off and running…

I arrived in Northern Virginia slash D.C. about two weeks ago and things have been hectic – Polaris Project fellowship, Human Trafficking training and lectures, contacting DC area photo editors, family engagements, meeting up with old friends, setting up meetings with photo clients, etc… – so sleep seems to be the main thing that is sacrificed. However, the hardest part of all of this is dealing with the 3 hours of commuting each day to work. Yes! An hour an a half each way!But it’s all worth it. The experience I’m getting here at Polaris is unbelievable… from the intense training program, from the people around the country who have also come here for the fellowship, to the stories of survivors, advocates, and policy makers– it’s just been amazing gathering information and knowledge about each other and how we can help fight modern day slavery.
